Our Team

SUZANNE CARSON

CO FOUNDER

Suzanne was introduced to using yoga equipment when she started practicing Iyengar Yoga as a 20 year old. When she started teaching in a local hall in Ponsonby she realized she was going to need more than just yoga mats.

With the help of her partner Paul Groom they set up their yoga school in 1996 and Yoga Arts NZ was established from there.

We have 4 boys, 2 grandchildren and are passionate about yoga and making beautiful functional yoga equipment.

ETHAN & ROKO

WORKSHOP GUYS

Ethan was the founder of Billy Handcrafted - our candle range - and has been working for Yoga Arts since 2015 in production, manufacturing and in the warehouse.

Roko joined Yoga Arts in 2020, taking over the production of the candles, packaging and working with wood and wool based products.

Both boys are passionate about being on the water. In particular surfing, which studiously keeps them practicing yoga.

MASTER SEWER

BRAD ROCK

Our master sewer Brad Rock; based in Taupo, has been sewing for Yoga Arts since 2017.

Brad, born in South Africa, has been a master rigger since 1997. Under Rockfall Rigging Brad has been building and repairing parachutes all over the world.

DAVID BRAKS

WOODWORK ARTISAN

David designs and manufactures custom built solid wood furniture, as well as careful and professional restoration of antique and retro furniture.

It has been an absolute pleasure to have David as part of the Yoga Arts team.
